— ABOUT ME

A story of survival through faith.

We all carry stories of heartache, pain, and mistakes. But our ending doesn't have to be the same as our beginning.

MEET LONY

The long way home.

Growing up, I always saw myself as the black sheep. I wanted to do things my way, in my own time. I was a true rebel, and I didn’t care who I hurt along the way.

I remember one day my mother sat me down and said,
“In life, you learn from other people’s mistakes—not your own.”

With a stern look, I replied,
“What if I want to learn from my own mistakes?”

I regret those words to this day… because that is exactly what I did—for more than twenty years.

I put myself through hell and high waters. I walked paths I never should have taken. I lived through pain, brokenness, and moments that felt like I was truly walking through the valley of the shadow of death.

I grew up in the church, but in my late teens and early twenties, I chose to step away. I wanted to see what the world had to offer. What I found instead was emptiness, hardship, and consequences I couldn’t escape.

But everything began to change the moment I surrendered my life to my Creator.

Little by little, I felt the chains of my past begin to loosen. The weight I had carried for so many years started to lift. For the first time in a long time, I could finally breathe.

  • And then came something I hadn’t felt in years—peace.

I SURVIVED

That peace reassured me that I was finally on the right path.

I knew that in my King, Jesus, I would rise. If I held on to Him, He would give me the strength to face each day. I knew that even through the valley of the shadow of death, I would not walk alone.

I was battered. I was bruised. I carried scars.
But I survived.

More than that—I became a warrior.

Not because of my own strength, but because He fought beside me.

I made the decision to place my entire life in His hands. To walk by faith, not by sight. To trust Him even when I didn’t understand the path ahead.

And because I chose to trust Him, you are here today—reading this, sharing in my journey, maybe even finding pieces of your own story within mine.

We all carry stories of heartache, pain, and mistakes. But our ending doesn’t have to be the same as our beginning.

Through my walk with Christ, I’ve learned this:

When you allow Him to guide your life, you will always overcome.

You can walk through storms and still stand.
You can be broken and still not be defeated.
You can walk through fire and not even smell like smoke.
You can face raging seas—and you will not drown.

This is my story.
A story of survival… through faith.
