Another year, Another gift!
Birthdays have a way of making us stop and reflect.
We celebrate another year of life, another candle on the cake, another page added to the story God has been writing since the day we were born. Some birthdays are filled with laughter, family, and unforgettable memories. Others arrive quietly, carrying heartache, loneliness, or unanswered prayers.
No matter what this birthday looks like, one truth remains the same: You are here because God is not finished with you yet. Every sunrise is a reminder that our Creator has graciously given us another opportunity, not simply to grow older, but to grow closer to Him.
It is easy to count the years that have passed, but perhaps the better question is this: What have those years taught us? Have they taught us to love more deeply? To forgive more freely? To trust God more completely? To value people more than possessions? To treasure eternal things more than temporary ones?
God never wastes a year. Every season has a purpose. Some years are filled with celebrations. Others are filled with tears. Some years bring unexpected blessings. Others bring painful lessons. Yet every one of them has been carefully woven together by the hands of a loving Father who knows exactly what we need to become the men and women He created us to be.
As another birthday arrives, don't spend your time wishing you were younger. Instead, thank God for every wrinkle that tells a story...Every scar that reminds you He carried you through...Every gray hair that testifies to His faithfulness...Every victory...Every failure...Every answered prayer...And even every unanswered one. Because each one has shaped the person you are becoming.
Life is not measured by the number of birthdays we celebrate, but by the lives we touch, the love we share, and the faith we build along the journey. One day, we will celebrate the greatest birthday of all, not the day we were born into this world, but the day we are born into eternity, where there will be no more candles to count, no more years passing by, and no more goodbyes.
Until that glorious day comes, may we continue to use every birthday as a reminder that life itself is one of God's greatest gifts. And every new year He gives us is another opportunity to glorify Him. May your greatest years of faith still be ahead of you.
Happy Birthday month to me!
